What are the Accuracy Options in Pressure Sensors?

Any kind of sensor loses its ability to maintain accurate measurements over a period of time. The accuracy of measurement can be maintained through a process called calibration.

The different levels of calibration accuracy are:

  • Uncalibrated: No calibration is performed on the sensors. Only some electrical tests are run on the sensor. The user would have to calibrate the sensor if the need arises.
  • Pressure only calibration: Here the output of the instrument being calibrated is compared to the output of a standard instrument, when the same amount of pressure is applied to both. The calibration is done at room temperature (25 degrees Celsius)
  • Standard accuracy: The standard accuracy ranges from 1.5% to 5.5% FS depending on pressure and temperature
  • High accuracy: High accuracy ranges from 1.5% to 3.5% FS depending on pressure and temperature ranges
  • Customized calibration is done based on the customer’s specifications and preferences.
